We very much encourage and expect our students to respect their partner’s bodies when training. AR Krav Maga teaching is firmly based on the principles of Safe System of Training that being safe place, safe person, safe equipment and safe practice. However, should there be an injury your instructors are qualified first aiders.

Do I need to be fit?
Krav Maga was developed for men, women and children of all ages and abilities. We do not expect any of our students to have a high degree of physical fitness. We scale the intensity of the class up or down depending on the fitness level of our students. So no, you do not need to be fit. As long as you are prepared to give it a go, you will be fine.
Is Krav Maga training suitable for women?
Yes. Women do Krav Maga worldwide and are very welcome in all our classes. We also have a women only class available.
Are there Gradings or Tests?
Yes there is. KMG award students ‘ranks’ represented by patches that indicate their current level. Our curriculum is structured into five Practitioner levels, five Graduate levels and five Expert levels.
They are not mandatory; however should you wish to grade, they would definitely aid your progression. Grading’s are really just a measure of what you have learned. Unlike martial arts, there are no national competitions so at grading’s you will have the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned with a partner at the same level. Achieving a grading tells us you have consolidated what you need to know and are ready to learn the next level of techniques. Do not worry about gradings.
If you do nothing else today, remember this:
"It’s better to avoid than to run; better to run than to de-escalate; better to de-escalate than to fight, better to fight than to die. The very essence of self-defence is a short list of principles that might just get you out alive when you’re already screwed". - Rory Miller
Due to its Israeli heritage, AR Krav Maga self defence training is widely recognised as the most comprehensive reality based self defence system in the world today.
